NEET UG Photo, Signature & Postcard Size — Complete Guide (Photo 10–200 KB, Signature 10–100 KB)

NEET UG asks for three uploads — here they all are
The NEET UG form asks for three uploads, not one — most guides cover one file and stop. If you’ve filled the form — or sat next to your child while they did — you know the photo step is a small exam before the big one. Here’s the complete set, stated the way NTA states it:
- Passport photograph: file size 10 KB to 200 KB, JPG. Our tool prepares it at 275 × 354 pixels inside that range.
- Postcard-size photograph (4 × 6 inch): file size 10 KB to 200 KB, JPG. Our tool prepares it at 800 × 1200 pixels inside that range.
- Signature: file size 10 KB to 100 KB, JPG — prepared by our tool at 275 × 118 pixels.
Now the one thing most sites get wrong, so read this carefully: the bulletin gives KB ranges only. It doesn’t prescribe pixels anywhere. The pixel sizes above are just our tool’s working settings, chosen to sit comfortably inside the official KB windows. So when a site tells you “the official NEET photo size is X × Y pixels”, it’s dressing up its own setting as an NTA rule. It isn’t. The rule is the KB range — the rest is preparation.
The postcard-size photo — the one people forget
The postcard photograph is exactly what it sounds like: your photo at postcard size, 4 × 6 inches — clearly bigger than the passport one. You don’t need a separate photo for it. Use the same recent photograph, prepared at the bigger size.
This is the file families discover last, usually at 10 pm with the form half-filled, because it sits further down the page than the passport photo. Then the evening turns into a studio hunt. Make all three files together and that evening never happens. And keep them safe afterwards — the same photograph shows up on your admit card and follows you to counselling. The full NEET UG picture — dates, eligibility, documents — is on our NEET UG guide.
What a good NEET photo looks like
The bulletin wants a recent, colour photograph against a light background, full face and ears visible. Stop and think about where this photo goes: it identifies you through a long, strict process, right up to counselling day. It deserves better than a crop from a group picture at a wedding.
Daylight from a window beats a yellow room bulb, every time. No filters, no beauty mode — they soften your face in exactly the way an ID photo must not be softened. And keep it recent. A lovely Class 10 photo doesn’t look like the person walking into the exam hall in Class 12, and the person at the verification desk will compare.
One more thing we see constantly: the WhatsApp-forwarded photo. A picture forwarded two or three times arrives already squeezed and slightly fuzzy, and stretching it into the 275 × 354 frame only makes the fuzz bigger. Get the original from the phone that took it — or just take a fresh photo. Two minutes, problem gone.
The signature: sign like a student, not a celebrity
The signature frame our tool prepares, 275 × 118 pixels, is comfortably wide. Sign on plain white paper in your normal handwriting with a black or blue pen. This is the signature that must match later, so resist the temptation to invent a stylish new one during application week. Photograph only the signature area, straight and in good light, and resize that image into the frame — staying inside the official 10–100 KB file size.
Making all three files in one sitting
All three files can be made in one sitting, at home, in about two minutes. In NEET application week, every studio near a coaching hub has a queue out the door for this same job. You don’t need to stand in it. The NEET preset on this site makes your passport photo at 275 × 354 pixels inside the 10–200 KB range, the second tool on the same page makes the postcard-size photo at 800 × 1200 pixels, and the signature takes another half a minute. Upload, check the framing, download. It all happens in your own browser — your photos aren’t uploaded anywhere.
Where NEET uploads go wrong
The forgotten postcard photo. Covered above — prepare all three files together, not two now and one in a panic later.
Treating a pixel figure as official. If your file is inside the bulletin's KB range and clearly shows you, it meets the stated rule. Do not reject a good file because a random site demanded different pixels.
The old or forwarded photo. Blurry in, blurry out — and a two-year-old face at a strict verification desk is a risk no one needs.
Leaving it to the last evening. NTA servers slow down at the deadline like every portal. Files made a day early turn the form into a calm ten-minute job.
One careful final step, and it matters more for NEET than most: read the photograph and signature instructions in the current NEET information bulletin before submitting and compare your three files once. NTA revises details between cycles, and the bulletin — not any guide, including this one — is the authority. Two minutes of checking protects a year of preparation.
Sources & verification: All three file specifications (passport photo 10–200 KB, postcard-size photo 10–200 KB, signature 10–100 KB, all JPG) are from the NTA NEET UG information bulletin, as carried in our verified NEET preset and NEET UG guide — the bulletin specifies KB ranges only and prints no pixel dimensions. Verified again on 24 October 2026. The next cycle's bulletin is the final word for that cycle.

What is the NEET photo size in KB?
NTA doesn’t give pixels at all — only a file size. Your passport photo has to be 10 KB to 200 KB, JPG. Our resizer makes it at 275 × 354 pixels, the usual passport frame, kept inside that official range.
What is the postcard-size photo in NEET?
It’s a second, bigger version of your photo — postcard size, 4 × 6 inches — and the form asks for it as a JPG of 10 KB to 200 KB, same as the passport photo. The NEET preset page has a separate tool that makes it at 800 × 1200 pixels.
What is the NEET signature size?
10 KB to 100 KB, JPG. Our tool makes the signature image at 275 × 118 pixels inside that range. Just sign the way you always sign, on plain white paper — don’t invent a fancy new signature during application week.
Should the passport photo and the postcard photo be the same photograph?
Use the same recent photograph for both. The postcard version is simply the bigger print of your current photo — the same photo follows you to the admit card and counselling, so both files should show the same, recent you.
Are the pixel sizes (275×354 etc.) official NEET requirements?
No. The bulletin specifies only file sizes in KB — it prints no pixel dimensions. The pixel sizes are the working sizes our tool prepares your files at, inside the official KB ranges. Any site that presents a pixel figure as "the official NEET photo size" is adding something the bulletin does not say.
Can I use the same photo I used for my school ID?
Only if it is recent and clear. An old or much-forwarded photo can look blurred when prepared at 275 × 354 pixels and may not match how you look now. A fresh photo is the safer choice.
