UPPSC AE Eligibility
From Advertisement A-9/E-1/2024 — qualification is per post, and the degree must be complete.
You need a Bachelor's degree in the relevant engineering branch from an institution/university recognised by the Government: Civil Engineering for AE (Civil) posts (fully qualified Associate Members who have passed Sections A and B of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Civil are also eligible), Mechanical for AE (Mechanical), Electrical and/or Mechanical as specified for the AE (Electrical/Mechanical) posts, Agricultural Engineering for the U.P. Agriculture Service Group-B Grade-2 post, and Electrical Engineering for Assistant Director (Electrical), Energy Department. You must possess the qualification up to the last date for submitting applications — candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are not eligible.
Age: minimum 21 years, maximum 40 years as on 1 July 2024 (born not earlier than 2 Jul 1984 and not later than 1 Jul 2003). The upper limit is greater by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC of U.P., skilled players of U.P. and State Government employees of U.P., and by 15 years for persons with disabilities of U.P., with further service-based relaxations printed in the advertisement. Benefits of reservation and age relaxation are available only to candidates domiciled in Uttar Pradesh; reserved-category candidates from other states are treated as unreserved. A Territorial Army service of at least two years, or an NCC B certificate, is a preferential (not essential) qualification when other things are equal.

An application found without a photograph and signature may be summarily rejected. At the interview stage you must furnish four passport-size photographs — two unattested and two attested by your Head of Department or the head of the institution where you last studied.
How to Apply for UPPSC AE
The A-9/E-1/2024 window is closed. The official process prescribed by the advertisement was:
- 1Complete One Time Registration (OTR) at otr.pariksha.nic.in — mandatory before applying; the advertisement directs candidates to obtain OTR at least 72 hours before submitting the application.
