About the role

This senior data-engineering role in Meesho's Data Engineering team builds the data platforms and reusable frameworks that multiple teams rely on. You will work deep inside Apache Spark, build streaming solutions, ensure data quality and governance through validation frameworks and observability, and mentor junior engineers.

What you will do

Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines (batch and streaming)
Lead the design of data platforms and reusable frameworks serving multiple teams
Build and optimise data models for large-scale operational and analytical workloads
Work with Apache Spark internals, including extending the open-source codebase
Ensure data quality, consistency and governance across pipelines

Skills & eligibility

5–8 years of software/data engineering experience focused on distributed data systems
Strong programming in Java, Scala or Python, and expertise in SQL
2+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka, Spark/EMR/Dataproc, Hive, Delta Lake, Presto/Trino and Airflow
Experience tuning Spark, Delta Lake and Presto at terabyte scale or beyond
Understanding of Spark internals (Catalyst, Tungsten, shuffle)
