FMGE Eligibility

In plain words — FMGE eligibility is document-driven; most rejections happen here.

You must be an Indian citizen or OCI holding a primary medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) from outside India, recognised for enrolment as a medical practitioner in the country where it was awarded, and finalised/confirmed by the concerned Indian Embassy. You also need the Eligibility Certificate issued by NMC/MCI under the applicable regulations, unless you fall in an exempted admission window.

Under the FMGL Regulations 2021, the degree must meet the duration, subjects, clinical training and medium rules (including the internship/ clerkship conditions) — read the bulletin's eligibility section before paying the fee, because NBEMS does not refund fees for ineligible applications.

  • Indian citizen / OCI with a foreign primary medical qualification
  • Degree confirmed by the Indian Embassy of that country
  • NMC Eligibility Certificate (where applicable)
  • Degree pattern compliant with FMGL Regulations 2021
