Uttar Pradesh fills its state-quota MBBS and BDS seats through one online counselling run by the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Lucknow, on the portal upneet.gov.in. There is no separate state exam — seats are allotted on your NEET UG 2026 rank, your choices and reservation rules. Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2026 counselling are complete; the Round 3 schedule has not been announced yet.

Round 2 dates are from DGME Notice ME-3/2026/1711 dated 20 Sep 2026 (revised schedule). Do not confuse UP NEET MDS (PG dental) Round 3 dates with MBBS/BDS UG dates — they are different counsellings.
UP NEET Counselling Eligibility
In plain words — who can sit in UP state counselling.
You must have qualified NEET UG 2026 by scoring at or above the category cut-off percentile. After that, DGME prepares a state merit list from registered candidates.
For government college seats you need an Uttar Pradesh connection: either you passed Class 10 and Class 12 from UP, or you hold a UP domicile certificate. Private, PPP and minority college seats are open to candidates from other states too — but a reserved-category candidate from outside UP is treated as General (UR) in this counselling.

- The 15% All India Quota seats of government colleges are filled by MCC, not DGME

When will UP NEET Counselling Round 3 start?
DGME UP has not announced the Round 3 schedule yet. Rounds 1 and 2 are complete (Round 2 admission closed on 1 Oct 2026). The Round 3 notice will publish on upneet.gov.in — beware of sites showing UP NEET MDS (PG dental) Round 3 dates as UG dates; they are a different counselling.
What is the UP NEET counselling registration fee?
The registration fee is ₹2,000 and it is non-refundable. Separately, you deposit refundable security money: ₹30,000 for government colleges, ₹1,00,000 for private dental, and ₹2,00,000 for private medical (or government + private combined).
Who conducts UP NEET counselling?
The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow conducts it on the official portal upneet.gov.in. It covers state-quota MBBS/BDS seats and all seats of private, PPP and minority colleges in UP. The 15% All India Quota is handled separately by MCC.
Can a student from another state join UP NEET counselling?
