WB ANM & GNM 2026 (WBJEEB)

● EXAM HELD 14 JUN 2026 CONDUCTED BY WBJEEB

Last updated — Oct 2026 · checked against the official WBJEEB, West Bengal notification

Admission to ANM(R) (2 years) and GNM (3 years) nursing courses in West Bengal is through one common entrance exam — ANM(GNM)-2026 — conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). The Information Bulletin was published on 19 March 2026 and the entrance exam was held on 14 June 2026. Two facts that many sites get wrong: GNM is open to male candidates too (only ANM(R) is female-only), and the bulletin sets NO upper age limit. You must have been a resident of West Bengal for at least 10 years to apply.

WB ANM GNM Eligibility

In plain words — from the ANM(GNM)-2026 Information Bulletin (19 Mar 2026).

You must be an Indian citizen who has been residing in West Bengal for at least 10 years, and be medically fit. GNM (3 years) is open to both male and female candidates; ANM(R) (2 years) is open to female candidates only. The minimum age is 17 years — the 2026 bulletin sets NO upper age limit. For GNM you need 10+2 with 40% aggregate and 40% in English. For ANM(R), 10+2 from a recognised board is enough. One more rule that surprises candidates: you must be able to read, write and speak Bengali or Nepali (not applicable to Nepali-speaking candidates of the Darjeeling hills sub-divisions).

  • Resident of West Bengal for at least 10 years (compulsory)
  • GNM: male and female candidates · ANM(R): female candidates only
  • Minimum age 17 years — no upper age limit in the 2026 bulletin
  • GNM: 10+2 with 40% aggregate + 40% in English · ANM(R): 10+2 (any stream)
  • Must read/write/speak Bengali or Nepali (with the Darjeeling exception)
