KEAM 2027
● 2027 — TO BE ANNOUNCED CONDUCTED BY CEE KERALALast updated — Oct 2026 · checked against the official CEE Kerala notification
KEAM is Kerala's entrance examination for professional degree courses, run by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE). For Engineering, it is a single computer-based paper — and the rank list gives equal weight (50:50) to your normalised entrance score and your Class 12 marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Admission is through the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). KEAM 2027 has not been announced; the details below are from the official KEAM 2026 Prospectus (approved vide G.O.(Ms) No. 03/2026/HEDN dated 01.01.2026). This page covers the Engineering stream — KEAM's medical-stream admissions run on NEET-UG scores.

KEAM Eligibility
Engineering courses — Clause 6 of the KEAM 2026 Prospectus.
You must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or an examination recognised as equivalent, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subjects, with at least 45% marks put together in those subjects (40% for SC/ST/SEBC and PwD candidates). If you did not study Chemistry, marks in Computer Science are used instead; then Biotechnology; then Biology. Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying exam may sit the entrance provisionally but must prove eligibility on the date of admission and submit their marks online in time to be ranked.
Age: you should have completed 17 years of age as on 31 December 2026; there is no relaxation of the minimum age and no upper age limit for Engineering. Nativity decides your category: Keralites alone get communal reservation, special reservation and fee concessions; Non-Keralite Category I (NK I) candidates compete for State Merit seats; Non-Keralite Category II (NK II) candidates cannot take Government-college Engineering seats but can take Government and Management seats in Private Self-financing colleges. Proof of nativity is mandatory to upload.
- 45% in Physics + Mathematics + Chemistry together (40% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD)
- Answering zero questions disqualifies you from the rank list
- Only one application for any or all KEAM courses
- No attempt limit is prescribed in the Prospectus
KEAM Exam Pattern
One Engineering paper in a single session per candidate, with five options per question and only one most appropriate response.
| Section | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Mathematics | 75 | 300 |
| Physics | 45 | 180 |
| Chemistry | 30 | 120 |
| Total (raw) | 150 | 600 |
+4 for each correct response, −1 for each incorrect response, 0 for no response. The raw score is normalised across sessions to an index out of 300, which is then combined 50:50 with your standardised Class 12 marks in Maths, Physics and Chemistry (ratio 5:3:2) for the rank index out of 600.

KEAM — Frequently Asked Questions
Is KEAM 2027 registration open?
No. As of 23 Oct 2026 CEE has published no KEAM 2027 notification; the dates are To be announced. The last cycle (2026) applied from 5–31 January 2026.
How is the KEAM Engineering rank actually calculated?
50:50 — half from your normalised KEAM entrance score (out of 300) and half from your qualifying-exam marks in Maths, Physics and Chemistry combined in the ratio 5:3:2, giving an index out of 600.
What is the KEAM exam pattern and marking?
150 questions (Maths 75, Physics 45, Chemistry 30) in 180 minutes, CBT; +4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong answer; five options per question.
What Class-12 marks do I need for KEAM Engineering?
At least 45% put together in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry (40% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD candidates), with Physics and Mathematics compulsory and Chemistry as an optional subject (Computer Science/Biotechnology/Biology marks substitute if Chemistry was not studied).
I am not from Kerala. Can I apply for KEAM?
Yes — you will be categorised NK I or NK II. NK I candidates compete for State Merit seats; NK II candidates cannot get Government-college Engineering seats but can take Private Self-financing college seats (and Government Cost-Sharing seats only if Keralite/NK I candidates are unavailable after Phase 2). Only Keralites get reservation and fee concessions.
What is the KEAM application fee for Engineering?
For 2026 (previous cycle): General ₹925, SC ₹400, ST candidates pay nothing. One application covers all KEAM courses; a UAE centre costs an extra ₹16,000.
What photo size must I upload for KEAM?
Photograph and signature each at 150 × 100 with file size between 1 KB and 100 KB, in jpg/jpeg format (Prospectus Clause 7.4, Step 4).
Where can I see KEAM cut-offs?
CEE does not publish a single cut-off mark. It publishes last-rank details — the last rank admitted per college, course and category in each allotment phase — on the KEAM portal (the "Last Rank Details" section of the KEAM 2026 portal).
What happens if I answer no questions in KEAM, or skip the exam?
A candidate who fails to answer at least one question is disqualified from the rank list, and a candidate who does not appear is not considered for Engineering ranking at all.
